Welcome to Monterey Bay and the Santa Cruz Rowing Club
We are friendly open-water rowers enjoying the beauty of Monterey Bay. For more information about Santa Cruz Rowing Club, please read through our web site and let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks for supporting our film event. The film won an award.
Santa Cruz Rowing Club sponsored the film Paddle to Seattle: Journey Through the Inside Passage in the 9th Annual Santa Cruz Film Festival, May 6-15, 2010.
The film screened on Sunday, May 9th at the Regal Riverfront Theatre and through audience balloting, it was awarded the Audience Award for Best Environmental Film for Santa Cruz Film Festival IX. Awesome!
The film is about two adventurers who paddle their home-made kayaks 1300+ miles from Alaska to Seattle. While it's not rowing, I think we can all appreciate the persistence it requires to travel that distance in a small people-powered craft and still maintain your sense of humor -- and film your adventure at the same time.
Here's a link to the web site for the film. It really was a joy to join JJ and Josh on their journey and we hope they'll keep on having adventures and making films.
