Thank you to all who participated in our 3rd Annual 2023 Rockfish and Row on May 28, 2023.
Mandy and Wendy organized such a fun and yummy event which included not only Santa Cruz Rowing Club members but also Coach K’s UCSC rowing students.
The day started out with flat water which became a light chop by the time the last rowers returned to the dock. All three doubles and most of the Club singles and did either the short or long course. Then we all enjoyed a wonderful lunch thanks to My Mama’s Mole.

Save the Date: Sunday 28 May 2023 !
Come join the 3rd Annual Santa Cruz Rowing Club 2023 Rockfish n Row on Sunday morning, May 28th. We invite all human-powered vessels to join us on a fun row: rowing shells, kayaks, outriggers, SUPs, surf skis, and other human-powered craft. Note that this is a “Fun Day” with an emphasis on Fun! You are welcome to self-time and keep track of your place in the event.
There will be two courses: a short course (approx 3 miles around buoys) and a long course (approx 9 miles to Capitola Wharf). GPS points will be announced at the Skippers Meeting just before launching.
All participants are required to attend the Skippers Meeting at 7:30am May 28th in the Santa Cruz Harbor for safety and for signing waivers. We will meet by the gate for Dock FF.
There is no fee for the event, but registration is required so we can plan the launch schedule. To Register: please email Wendy directly: wking108@mac.com
There will be a limited number of sculls available for rent, with priority for SCRC members. A reservation sheet will be available for Club members in the Oar Locker binder.
Please join in an after-rowing celebration gathering. My Mom’s Mole will be offering Rockfish tacos and other tasty treats. Please indicate during registration how many people might want to eat, so sufficient food is prepared. Cost is $15 for Fish Taco Lunch. We will convene in Frederick’s Street Park.
